Music Review

It’s time for a music review! Today, I will be reviewing two recent musical projects that have captured my heart. One is Hellfire by Black Midi, and the other is LOUIE by the legendary Kenny Beats. Give ‘em a listen, and tell me what you think: stackp23@ensworth.com

Louie: LOUIE by the great Kenny Beats is the hip-hop producer’s new instrumental record chalked full of his classic vibrato, masterful production, and stunning vocal arrangements. Favorite tracks from the record include the reggae/rock fusion track “Hooper” and dynamic dance beat “Drop 10.”That being said, the range of the album never feels disjointed or distracting. I would go as far as to say it’s a good study album. Every night I’ve gotten home from school for the past week, I’ve been listening to LOUIE over my AP Lit readings and Statistics homework. I’d give it a strong recommendation. Check it out!

Hellfire, the brand new LP from the infamous British Jazz Rock band Black Midi, has taken over my morning commute. Following the release of Cavalcade, the band has tightened up their assembly and production through bombastic guitar progressions and aggressive songwriting. Top tracks from the album include “Hellfire,” “Eat Man Eat,” and “Sugar/Tzu.” Throbbing with electric intensity, this album is perfect for a head-banding good time with stunning jazz progressions that leave you speechless. Did ya hate it? Did ya like it? Let me know at stackp23@ensworth.com.
