2024 fall fashion is a mix of old and returning trends and fresh and new ones. This fall, we’re seeing many recurring trends from previous years, but are also leaning into some that were on the fringe last season. While there’s a lot of crossover from last season’s fall fashion trends list, many new trends are becoming popular, like leopard print, textured sweaters, and wide-leg jeans. These new trends could be the start of a new era.

The leopard print trend seems to be returning to America’s favorites list once again. After being popular in the 1960s, leopard print is on its comeback, with jackets, pants, and boots galore. Known for its chic appeal and versatility, it's an American favorite this season. Initially seen on celebrities such as Audrey Hepburn and the Spice Girls, it's now returning on current celebrities like the Kardashians and famous actresses like Maya Hawk. Becoming trendy on social media apps such as TikTok, younger generations are sporting leopard print to all sorts of events. Sold by designer brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino, leopard print is in high demand (Jackson).
Along with the sudden craving for leopard print, wide-leg jeans are making a return. This year, denim is all in, but especially jeans. With skinny jeans and mom jeans out the door, wide-leg jeans are all the new rage. Previously popular in the mid-1970s, they are now worn by influencers on many social media platforms, with people of all ages flocking to buy these jeans. Easily paired with many tops and providing warmth during the fall season, these jeans are perfect for people with all sorts of styles and clothing preferences. Who knows how many more seasons they will appear in.

Textured sweaters are a new trend in fashion. They’ve been around for a while but are now rising to the top like never before. Much like a solid-colored pullover that can be worn with almost anything, textured sweaters are more accessible to wear than patterned ones and make more of a statement. Textured sweaters lend visual interest to plain-colored jackets, but help tone down the look of more complicated designs.

One outdated thing this fall is oversized clothing. Oversized clothing has been having quite a moment over the past few years. From oversized sweaters to super baggy jeans, oversized everything has been widespread. This year, we take a turn; oversized clothing is now seen as “trashy” or “tacky,” giving it less appeal to the public eye. If you want to stay in style and with the trends this fall season, avoid oversized clothing at all costs.
This season, there are all sorts of trends, some returning from the past and others making new appearances. It can be hard to keep up with the quickly changing trends, but we hope this guide will make your wardrobe all the better this fall.
